Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a balanced, tactical approach to pest control. It involves taking action to anticipate pest outbreaks and prevent potential damage. IPM often and carefully combines various control tactics, including control biologically, plants that are pest resistant, cultural practices, monitoring of pest population and the careful use of pesticides. The goal of integrated pest management is to achieve economical and effective pest control with the least risk to the environment. Not always easy to do but can be done.

I just loved the ipm idea about pest control poisons for bugs. I have 3 little one that love to play in the back yard a lot. The pest control company that came to our house mentioned integrated pest management to my husband and I. I just love the idea of the least amount of poison used for maximum amount of spider kill. We had a lot of spiders and since the pest control guy was here three weeks ago i haven’t seen one. Thumbs up fo that ipm method.
